WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to Loyola (Md.), 10-8, in Patriot League action Saturday afternoon at Kuzniewski Field.

With the win, Loyola improves to 6-4 (3-1 PL), while Holy Cross moves to 5-5 (2-3 PL) with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Loyola got off to a strong start in the first quarter, netting four goals. Holy Cross' lone goal of the frame came off the stick of freshman Caleb DaRocha.
• The Crusaders picked it up in the second quarter thanks to two goals by junior Bo Webster and a strike by junior Ryan Botek to trail by a score of 6-4 at the half.
• Holy Cross stormed back in the third quarter, outscoring Loyola 3-2, thanks to goals by sophomores Owen Tunney, Andrew Ottomanelli, and Jake Doran to bring the score to 8-7.
• Tunney tied the game at 8-8 with 9:11 to play in regulation, but two goals by the Greyhounds in the final five minutes brought the score to its final of 10-8.

BEYOND THE BOX:

• Senior JR Long recorded eight saves in the contest.
• Freshman Shane McDonnell led both sides with seven faceoff wins, finishing with a .538 success rate (7-for-13).
• Senior Julian Jenkins led both sides with five caused turnovers and tied for the game-lead in ground ball pickups with five.

UP NEXT:

• Holy Cross will travel to Navy next Saturday, April 4, for a 3 p.m. matchup in Annapolis, Md.
• The game is scheduled to broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.
