WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Racheli Levy-Smith has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, for competition from Feb. 23-March 1. This marks the third straight week and the fifth time in her career that she has earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors.
In Holy Cross' lone game last week, Levy-Smith helped lead the Crusaders to a 13-11 victory over Bryant. She totaled 12 draw controls, one caused turnover and one ground ball in the game, while leading a defense that held the Bulldogs to just one goal over the final 26 minutes of play as Holy Cross rallied for the win.
On the year, Levy-Smith now has 54 draw controls, 15 caused turnovers and 11 ground balls. Over the course of her career with the Crusaders, she has totaled a school-record 338 draw controls, 81 ground balls and 62 caused turnovers.
Holy Cross (2-3 overall) returns to action on Monday, March 2, when it travels to Dartmouth for a 3 p.m. game.
