CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior
Kate Avitabile totaled six points on one goal and five assists, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by Harvard 17-9 at Jordan Field. The Crusaders fall to 4-6 on the season, while the Crimson improve to 3-5 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The game was tied at 2-2 after the first four minutes of play, before Harvard ran off four straight goals to take a 6-2 lead.
• Holy Cross was able to trim the deficit to two (7-5) midway through the second quarter, and the Crimson eventually led 9-6 at halftime.
• It was still a three-goal game (10-7) with 11:28 left in the third quarter, when Harvard scored six straight to up by nine (16-9).
• The Crimson led by at least eight the rest of the way, going on to win 17-9.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Sophomore
Hadley Cepiel and senior
Tory Rider both scored two goals on the night.

Mackenzie Creagh made 11 saves in net.
• Senior
Racheli Levy-Smith totaled six draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
• Harvard was led by Callie Batchelder with six goals and one assist.

• Holy Cross will return to action on Saturday, March 28, when it travels to Colgate for an 11 a.m. game.
