Men’s ice hockey takes final road trip of regular season to Sacred Heart

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team is set to travel to Fairfield, Conn. to face Sacred Heart on Friday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Martire Family Arena. Both games will be broadcast live on FloHockey.

THE CRUSADERS (14-14-2, 12-8-2 AHA):
  • Holy Cross enters the weekend set following a split with Canisius. The Crusaders took Friday's matchup, 4-3, before falling on Saturday, 5-3.
  • Freshman Danick Leroux earned Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Week honors for the second-straight week, making 50 saves over the two games. On Friday, the Candiac, Quebec native recorded his eighth win of the season and made 26 saves, before making 24 saves in Saturday's loss.
  • Overall this season, Leroux's 2.65 goals-against average ranks eighth and his .907 save percentage ranks seventh in Atlantic Hockey.
  • Sophomore Matt Kursonis extended his point streak to six games over the weekend, recording three points on a goal and two assists. Since the streak began on Jan. 29 against Army, Kursonis has posted eight points on two goals and six assists.
  • Junior Jack Stockfish was named a candidate for the 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award. Stockfish enters the weekend with  25 points on nine goals and 16 assists.
  • Stockfish's 345 face-off wins this season leads Atlantic Hockey and is sixth in the nation. His .587 success rate also leads Atlantic Hockey by nearly 30 points.

SCOUTING SACRED HEART (15-12-3, 11-8-3 AHA):
  • The Pioneers made the trip to Bentley last weekend, playing to a series split thanks to a 4-0 shutout win on Friday and a 5-1 loss on Saturday.
  • Sacred Heart will play this weekend at home before finishing out the regular season on the road at Army next weekend. Sacred Heart is 6-5-2 this season at Martire Family Arena, and 26-18-4 all-time at home against Holy Cross.
  • Sacred Heart is led on offense by Mikey Adamson (4-20-24), Ray Fust (8-9-17), and the AHA leader in goals, Felix Trudeau (21-10-31). Netminder Teagan Kendrick has backstopped 19 of the Pioneers' 30 games this season, posting a 2.38 goals-against average and .922 save percentage.

ALL TIME SERIES:
  • Holy Cross holds the all-time series lead at 50-42-7 since 1994.
  • The Crusaders have dominated the last ten meetings, posting a 7-2-1 record dating back to the 2023-24 season.
  • The teams met for a two-game series in Worcester in October. Holy Cross took five of six possible points, taking game one in regulation, 5-2, before taking the extra point in a shootout in game two following a 2-2 tie.
