FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team fell to Sacred Heart, 5-1, Friday night at the Martire Family Arena.

With the win, Sacred Heart improves to 16-12-3 (12-8-3 AHA), while Holy Cross moves to 14-15-2 (12-9-2 AHA) with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Sacred Heart got on the board just under six minutes into the opening frame. 
• Senior Jack Seymour tied the game three minutes later with his seventh goal of the season. Sophomore Matt Kursonis forced a turnover at the defensive blue line, finding himself on a two-on-one the other way with Seymour. Forcing the defender to bite, Kursonis dished the puck to Seymour for the score.
• Sacred Heart would score one more in the first, one in the second, and two in the third for the 5-1 win.

BEYOND THE BOX:

• Freshman Danick Leroux recorded 16 saves in the contest.
• Kursonis now holds the longest active point streak in Atlantic Hockey, picking up at least a point in each of the Crusaders' last seven games.
• Holy Cross blocked 15 shots to Sacred Heart's eight, with senior Mack Oliphant and junior Brody Gagno tying for the game-lead with three each.

UP NEXT:

• The two teams will meet again tomorrow night, Saturday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m.
• The matchup at Martire Family Arena will stream live on FloHockey and SNY.
