- Junior David Hymovitch netted his second goal of the season to give the Crusaders the 3-0 lead halfway through the opening frame, lifting a rebound over the outstretched netminder.
- Canisius got on the board three minutes later to round out the scoring in the first period.
- Senior Tim Heinke netted the eventual game-winning goal just over eight minutes into the second period, finding the puck in traffic and sending it into the back of the net.
