Crusaders look to build on back-to-back wins

Women's basketball at Lafayette Wednesday on 6 p.m.

OPENING TIP:
• Holy Cross heads back on the road to take on Lafayette on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. on ESPN+ at Kirby Sports Center.

HOLY CROSS NOTES: 
• The Crusaders have won back-to-back games and six of their last seven to head into Wednesday night's game at 16-9 overall and 10-4 in the Patriot League.
• Holy Cross allowed a season-low 40 points in a 49-40 home win over Loyola (Md.) on Saturday, while holding the Greyhounds to 28.3%; matching a season-low for the season.
• Meg Cahalan remains Holy Cross' only scorer averaging double figures at 15.3 points per game following her seventh 20-point game of the season. Simone Foreman was the only other Crusader in double figures with 10 points as Holy Cross' 49-point total was the second lowest in a win this season.
• Kaitlyn Flanagan enters the game with 994 career points. She is six points away from becoming the 36th 1,000-point scorer in program history and third player with 1,000 points and 500 assists. The Crusaders' two current members of the 1,000-point, 500-assist club are Alex Smith (1,644 points, 568 assists, 2010-14) and Anna Kinne (1,234, 532, 1996-00).
• Holy Cross' win over Loyola clinched the Crusaders a first-round bye in the Patriot League Tournament. HC now sits alone in third place after Lehigh, which swept the season series vs. the Crusaders, lost on Saturday.

ABOUT LAFAYETTE:
• Lafayette is 9-16 overall and 5-9 in the Patriot League after a 73-59 win over  Lehigh to snap a four-game losing streak. The Leopards are tied with Bucknell for sixth in the Patriot League standings.
• Teresa Kiewiet is Lafayette's top scorer at 15.9 points per game to go with 5.7 rebounds and a .364 three-point percentage on 32 makes.
• Lafayette is the Patriot League leading team in three-point percentage at .351 and second in three-point field goals made at 190. Hayle Adamski has made a team-high 60 threes, while shooting .395 with 10.5 points per game and Sauda Ntaconayigze shoots a team-best .415 with 44 makes and 10.4 points per game.

THE HC-LAFAYETTE SERIES:
• The Crusaders lead the all-time series against the Leopards, 70-12 for a .853 win percentage.
• Holy Cross has won 13 in a row against Lafayette, beginning with a 56-53 overtime win at home on Feb. 2, 2019.
• A dominant 29-15 fourth quarter propelled Holy Cross to a 70-48 home win on Jan. 17.
• Kendall Eddy led the Crusaders with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while Teresa Kiewiet paced Lafayatte with 11. Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly and Simone Foreman contributed 12 and 11, respectively, for Holy Cross.

SINCE JANUARY 24:
• The Crusaders are 6-1 since picking up a road win at American on Jan. 24, 70-58. Holy Cross started that stretch with four consecutive wins and bounced back from the one loss to Lehigh (Feb. 7) with a win at Colgate (Feb. 11).
• Over that stretch, the Crusaders are outscoring opponents 62.6-54.1 and have dominated the fourth quarter and overtime; outscoring the opposition 158-110.
• Holy Cross has held its opponents to a 35.3 field-goal percentage, while shooting 42.9%.
• Cahalan (17.3) and Flanagan (10.6) have each seen an uptick in scoring, while Donnelly has averaged 7.7 points and 8.0 rebounds in the last seven games.

THE SENIOR CLASS:
• Holy Cross' roster includes four seniors; all starters and four-year contributors. Meg Cahalan, Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly, Kaitlyn Flanagan and Simone Foreman all suit up for their last home game at Hart Center Arena next Saturday.
• The seniors have collectively averaged 38.0 points per game this season.
• Over their four year careers, Cahalan (773), Donnelly (485), Flanagan (994) and Foreman (856) have combined for 3,108 points.  Additionally, they are 80-43 overall and 45-23 in Patriot League play throughout their careers.
