Women's basketball back on the road at Colgate

Crusaders and Raiders set for Wednesday match-up at 6 p.m.

OPENING TIP:
• Holy Cross is back on the road Wednesday night when it visits Colgate at Cotterell Court in Hamilton, N.Y. with tip-off set for 6 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

HOLY CROSS NOTES: 
• The Crusaders, who saw their four-game win streak snapped on Saturday at Lehigh, enter Wednesday night at 14-9 overall and 8-4 in the Patriot League.
• Holy Cross is 5-6 on the road this season, including a 70-58 win at American (Jan. 24) to start the Crusaders' most recent win streak. Wednesday continues a stretch of five out of seven games on the road to end the regular season leading into the Patriot League Tournament.
• After an early back-and-forth on Saturday, Lehigh utilized a 15-0 run that bridged the first quarter and second quarter en route to a 24-12 lead and never looked back. The lead increased to 35-20 by halftime and the Mountain Hawks' largest lead of the day came at 48-26 midway through the third.
• Meg Cahalan remains Holy Cross' only scorer averaging double figures at 15.1 points per game. Cahalan (18) was joined by Kaitlyn Flanagan (14) and Simone Foreman (11) in double digits at Lehigh.
• Saturday's loss at Lehigh dropped Holy Cross to three games behind Navy (11-1) for first place. Holy Cross handed Navy its only league loss on Jan. 3 in Annapolis. The Crusaders are currently a game back of Army (9-3) and tied for third with Lehigh (8-4) with the Mountain Hawks holding a 2-0 head-to-head record.

ABOUT COLGATE:  
• Colgate is 6-17 overall and 2-10 in the Patriot League after a 50-41 loss to Bucknell. The Raiders sit in last place in the standings and have won just one of their first 11 games since the calendar flipped to 2026.
• Ella Meabon is Colgate leading scorer at 14.3 points per game, the Raiders' lone player averaging double digits, to go with 5.2 rebounds and a team-high 2.5 assists.
• Madison Schiller has emerged as Colgate's number-two scorer in conference play at 8.5 points per game with a team-leading 6.8 rebounds per game against Patriot League competition.

THE HC-COLGATE SERIES:
• Holy Cross leads the all-time series against Colgate, 63-14, with a .818 win percentage. 
• The Crusaders outscored the Raiders by a 15-5 margin in overtime and notched a 60-50 victory at home on Jan. 28. Holy Cross went 11-for-14 from the free throw line in the extra session with Janie Bachmann opening the OT period at the charity stripe and she again capped off a 9-0 run sinking two free throws.
• Colgate tied the game at 45 with 0:02 left in regulation on a jumper from Ella Mabon to force OT.
• Meabon paced all players with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Kaitlyn Flanagan led Holy Cross with 17 points.
• Despite dominating the all-time series, Colgate recently won four straight against Holy Cross until the Crusaders picked up a 59-55 home win against the Raiders (Feb. 26, 2025).

HOLY CROSS ON THE GLASS:
• Simone Foreman leads the team and ranks sixth in the Patriot League at 7.8 rebounds per game. She has collected six or more boards in 18 of the 21 games she has played in including five games with double-digit rebounds. 
• In her career, Foreman has collected 731 rebounds and surpassed Tracy Quinn (1983-87) for 10th all-time in program history during Holy Cross' win over BU (Feb. 2). She sits one back of Mary Rose Campbell (1999-04) for ninth and two back of Norinne Powers (1989-93) for eighth in program history.
• Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly ranks second on the team and ninth in the league at 5.8 rebounds per game. 
• As a team, the Crusaders lead the Patriot League in defensive rebounds (27.5) and second in combined team rebounds (36.4).

FLANAGAN DROPPING DIMES:
• Kaitlyn Flanagan has started all 121 games in her Holy Cross career and the Crusaders have posted a 78-43 (.645) mark in that stretch. She currently leads the conference in assist/turnover ratio (2.0) and ranks second in assists per game (4.0).
• At Lehigh (Feb. 7), Flanagan reached 500 career assists, becoming the seventh player in program history to reach the milestone. She started the season outside of Holy Cross' top-10 all-time and now sits 32 back of Anna Kinne (1996-00) for sixth in the record book.
• Flanagan surpassed Maile Shimoda of Navy (2000-04) when she entered the Patriot League's top 10 in career assists on Jan. 14 at Army. She became the fifth Crusader in the top 10 along with Veronica Jutras (1996-2000), Kim Lynch (1992-96), Alex Smith (2010-14) and Anna Kinne (1996-2000).
