Levy-Smith named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Racheli Levy-Smith has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, for competition from Feb. 9-15. This marks the third time in her career that she has earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors.

In a pair of games last week, Levy-Smith totaled 22 draw controls, eight caused turnovers and five ground balls. She opened the week with six draw controls, four caused turnovers and two ground balls in Tuesday's game with Albany. Then in Saturday's 18-8 win over Stonehill, Levy-Smith recorded a season-high 16 draw controls, four caused turnovers and three ground balls.

On the year, Levy-Smith now has 33 draw controls, 10 caused turnovers and seven ground balls. Over the course of her career with the Crusaders, she has totaled a school-record 317 draw controls, 77 ground balls and 57 caused turnovers. 

Holy Cross (1-2 overall) returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 19, when it travels to Brown for a 5:30 p.m. game.
