PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore
Hadley Cepiel scored a pair of goals, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by Brown 15-5 at Stevenson-Pincince Field. The Crusaders fall to 1-3 on the year, while the Bears improve to 1-1 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The game was close early on, and Brown held a 3-2 lead with 2:52 remaining in the first quarter.
• The Bears then went on a 6-1 run to claim a 9-3 halftime advantage.
• After Holy Cross scored the opening goal of the third quarter, Brown used another 6-1 spurt to pull away for the victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Sophomore
Molly Fink recorded one goal and one assist on the evening, while junior
Kate Avitabile dished out two assists.
• Senior
Racheli Levy-Smith totaled nine draw controls, four caused turnovers and three ground balls.
• The Bears finished the game with a 31-18 advantage in shots.
• Ruby Sliwkowski led Brown with four goals and one assist.

• Holy Cross will return to action on Friday, Feb. 27, when it plays host to Bryant at 5:30 p.m.
