WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Hadley Cepiel totaled a career-high eight points on six goals and two assists, as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team defeated Stonehill 18-8 at Kuzniewski Field. The Crusaders improve to 1-2 on the year, while the Skyhawks fall to 0-2 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Holy Cross started the game hot, scoring nine of the first 10 goals to take a commanding 9-1 lead with 12:49 remaining in the second quarter.
• Both Cepiel and junior Annabel Brennan scored three goals during that stretch.
• Stonehill netted the next three goals to close the gap, and the Crusaders eventually took a 12-5 lead into halftime.
• Holy Cross increased its lead to 10 (16-6) midway through the third quarter, and later held the Skyhawks scoreless over the final 16:12 of play while cruising to victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Brennan finished the day with five points on four goals and one assist.
• Senior Racheli Levy-Smith totaled 16 draw controls, four caused turnovers and two ground balls on the afternoon.
• Junior Jenn Prince tallied four points on two goals and two assists, while junior Kate Avitabile dished out four assists.
• Senior Mackenzie Creagh made six saves while allowing just eight goals.
• Stonehill was led by Grace Murphy with four goals.

IN THE RECORD BOOKS:
• Levy-Smith's 16 draw controls tied for the second-highest single-game total in program history.
• Cepiel tied for seventh place on the school single-game list for goals, and ninth for points.

UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 19, when it travels to Brown for a 5:30 p.m. game.
