Men’s ice hockey hits the road to face Robert Morris

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team is set to travel to Robert Morris for a two-game Atlantic Hockey set on Friday, Jan. 23 and Saturday, Jan. 24, both at 7 p.m. at Clearview Arena. Both games will be broadcast live on FloSports and locally in the Pittsburgh area on Sportsnet Pittsburgh.

THE CRUSADERS (11-9-2, 9-3-2 AHA):
  • Holy Cross currently hold the Atlantic Hockey lead in goals scored per game (3.32), assists per game (5.77), points per game (9.09),  and faceoff win percentage (.526), and are second in goals for (73), assists (127) and points (200).
  • The Crusaders took two points last weekend against Air Force thanks to winning on Friday night in overtime, 3-2.
  • Five different players scored for the Crusaders' in the weekend set, with Michael Abgrall recording the only multi-point effort of the weekend (1-2-3).
  • Junior Ty Gagno led Holy Cross with six blocked shots over the weekend, bringing his season total to 22. Sophomore Owain Johnston recorded four, raising his team-leading mark to 33 - the 11th highest mark in the league.
  • Senior Jack Seymour sits in a tie for 15th in the nation in plus/minus at +17 on the season.
  • Junior Jack Stockfish was named a candidate for the 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award Wednesday afternoon.
  • Stockfish, who carries 20 points on eight goals and 12 assists into the weekend, sits in sixth in Atlantic Hockey in points and is tied for seventh in points per game at 0.91.
  • Stockfish's 246 face-off wins this season sits in second in Atlantic Hockey and 13th in the nation, while his .612 success rate this season leads Atlantic Hockey and ranks fourth in the nation.

SCOUTING ROBERT MORRIS (5-15-2, 5-8-1 AHA):
  • This weekends' series marks the beginning of a six-game homestand for the Colonials.
  • Robert Morris also faced off against a service academy last weekend, traveling to Army for a two-game set. The Colonials fell the first night in overtime, 3-2, before shutting out the Black Knights, 3-0, on Saturday, leaving West Point with four of a possible six points in the Atlantic Hockey standings.
  • The Colonials are led on offense by Tanner Klimpke (8-6-14), Cameron Garvey (5-7-12), and Jackson Reineke (6-4-10). Netminder Charlie Schenkel has backstopped 18 of Robert Morris' 22 games this season, posting a 3.18 goals-against average and .894 save percentage.

ALL TIME SERIES:
  • Robert Morris holds the all-time series lead at 20-11-4, dating back to 2010.
  • The teams are even in the last ten meetings, with each team winning four games. The two ties have led to a shootout win for each side.
  • The two teams last met for a two game set in Worcester on Jan. 10 and 11, 2025. Holy Cross won the first night, 4-1, before taking the shootout win on the second night following a 2-2 tie.
