MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team fell to Robert Morris, 5-2, Friday night at Clearview Arena.

With the win, Robert Morris improves to 6-15-2 (6-8-1 AHA), while the Crusaders move to 11-10-2 (9-4-2 AHA) with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Robert Morris struck first at the 9:50 mark of the first period.
• Senior Matt DeBoer tied the game at 1-1 with a power play goal, netting a rebound off a shot by sophomore Matt Kursonis.
• Robert Morris regained the lead at the 3:03 mark before extending their lead to 3-1 with a goal 33 seconds later.
• The lone goal of the second period went the way of the Colonials, extending the lead to 4-1. Robert Morris would score their fifth and final goal with 5:18 to play in the third period.
• Junior Jack Stockfish found the back of the net on the 4-on-3 opportunity with 1:20 to play in regulation. Receiving a pass from junior Will Elias, Stockfish sent a wrist shot past the Colonials netminder.

BEYOND THE BOX:

• Junior Connor MacKenzie recorded 23 saves in relief, including 13 in the final period.
• Holy Cross is now 1-9-0 on the season when their opponent scores first.

UP NEXT:

• The two teams will meet again tomorrow night, Saturday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m.
