WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team has been ranked 14th in the nation by USCHO. This marks the first time in program history that the Crusaders have been nationally ranked. It is also the first time any Holy Cross women's team has been nationally ranked at the Division I level.
The Crusaders received 24 total points in the poll, to place 14th. Holy Cross was joined in the rankings by two other Hockey East teams, No. 5 Connecticut and No. 8 Northeastern.
Holy Cross currently stands 16-7-1 overall and 8-6-1 in Hockey East. The Crusaders have set a new program single-season record for Hockey East victories, while their 16 total wins are their most in eight years. Holy Cross currently leads the nation in penalty kill percentage (92.5 percent), while standing fifth in goals against average (1.53).
The Crusaders will return to action on Friday, Jan. 23, when they play host to Providence at 6 p.m.
