WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross freshman forward
Naemi Herzig has been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week for competition from January 12-18. Herzig tallied one goal and one assist as the Crusaders defeated Boston University 4-2 in their only game last week.
During Saturday's win over the Terriers, Herzig recorded an assist on a first period goal by freshman forward
Violet Carroll that gave Holy Cross the lead for good. She later scored an empty net goal in the third period to cement the victory.
Overall this season, Herzig ranks second on the team in scoring with 20 points on seven goals and 13 assists.
Holy Cross (16-7-1 overall, 8-6-1 Hockey East) returns to action on Friday, Jan. 23, when it plays host to Providence at 6 p.m.
