DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The men's and women's cross country teams competed at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational held at Robert Dowd Cross Country Course on Saturday, Sept. 20. The men competed against 31 other teams while the women took on 35 other schools.

Senior captain Liam Lyons crossed the finish line first overall at 24:07.69 on the eight-kilometer course. The Crusaders finished in fourth with a total of 119 points. Boston University captured the team title with 60 points, followed by UMass-Lowell with 98 points and Brown in third with 104 points.

Junior Joseph Mahon earned a second-place finish with a time of 24:14.76, while junior Thomas Speltz came in 26th with a time of 25:18.66. sophomore Robert Foster (38th, 25:35.68), and senior Ben Stone (53rd, 25:58.38) to round out the Holy Cross top five runners.

Junior Siena Brunetti was Holy Cross's top finisher, claiming fifth place overall with a time of 21:31.13 on the six-kilometer course. The Crusaders finished in fifth with a total of 179 points. Boston University captured the team title with 35 points, followed by Brown with 68 points and UMass-Lowell in third with 130 points.

Freshman Natalie Martin earned a 36th-place finish with a time of 22:34.03, while fellow freshman Megan Moran came in 47th at 22:45.95. Seniors Abby Granrath (54th, 22:58.20) and Meryl Sullivan (60th, 23:02.29) round out the Holy Cross top five runners.

The Crusaders return to action on Friday, Oct. 3, when they compete at Lehigh's Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa., at Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
