Women’s basketball welcomes Colgate to Hart Center for Pink Game

The Holy Cross women's basketball team will duel Patriot League opponent Colgate on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. The contest will stream live on ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (16-10, 9-6 PL): 
  • The Crusaders dropped a conference contest to Navy last Saturday. Senior forward Lindsay Berger scored a game-high 18 points with seven rebounds and three assists in the setback.
  • Berger was named Patriot League honorable mention on Monday for the second time this season. Berger averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.0 steals per game on 66.7% (14-of-21) shooting in a pair of games last week.
  • Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Kit Hughes announced on Monday, Feb. 24 that Candice Green will have her interim tag removed and will serve as the permanent head coach of the Holy Cross women's basketball team. Green took over as interim head coach of the Crusaders in August, and has guided Holy Cross to a 16-10 record this season, including a 9-6 mark in league play. She has a 35-23 (.603) overall record as a head coach. 
  • Junior Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly is the top three-point shooter percentage wise in the Patriot League connecting on a league-high 41.4 percent (41-of-99) of her three-point attempts. Classmate Kaitlyn Flanagan leads the league in assists per game (5.2) and assists (135).
  • The Crusaders have only had their shot blocked 42 times this season which is fourth fewest in the NCAA this season.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS (21-7, 11-4 PL): 
  • Colgate has won six straight games including a 68-57 win at home against Loyola (Md.). Taylor Golembiewski scored a game-high 19 points with five boards going a perfect 6-for-6 at the line. As a team, Colgate was 24-for-25 (96 percent) at the charity stripe.
  • Golembiewsi was selected Patriot League honorable mention on Monday. She averaged 19.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Raiders. She was also named Preseason All-Patriot League in the fall. Golembiewski ranks third in the league in field goal percentage (45.2), fifth in scoring (13.6), and ninth in steals per game (1.5).
  • During their six game winning streak, the Raiders have a +17.2 scoring margin averaging 72.8 points per game and holding opponents to 55.7 points per game. They have a +6.2 turnover margin and a +4.3 rebounding margin.
  • As a team, Colgate shoots a high percentage at the free throw line ranking 10th in the NCAA in free throw percentage (78.6).
LAST TIME THEY MET: 
  • The Crusaders are 61-14 (.813) in the series history against the Raiders which began in 1991. Holy Cross is 33-6 (.846) at home in the Hart Center Arena against Colgate. Colgate has won the last four matchups against the Crusaders.
  • In their last meeting on Feb. 12, the Raiders earned a 73-51 win. Junior Meg Cahalan led the way with 13 points for the Crusaders.
