Cahalan, Flanagan named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Seniors Meg Cahalan and Kaitlyn Flanagan were named the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Cahalan, an accounting major, posted a 3.54 cumulative GPA through the fall semester of her senior year. She earned recognition on the 2026 Academic All-Patriot League Team and was also named to the First Team All-Patriot League. 

Cahalan finished the 2026 season ranked third in the Patriot League in field goal percentage and first in free throw efficiency, shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 86.0 percent from the line. Through 18 league games, she averaged 15.3 points per game, along with 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Cahalan finished in double figures on 26 occasions this season and 45 times in her collegiate career.

Cahalan posted 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting, five rebounds, two assists, a block, and steal in the 2026 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Championship, guiding Holy Cross to its third conference title in four years. Her efforts would land her a spot on the All-Tournament team.

Flanagan, an English major, earned a 3.71 cumulative GPA through the fall semester of her senior year. She was named to the 2026 Academic All-Patriot League Team and first team All-Patriot League, demonstrating excellence both on and off the court. Flanagan was a dynamic force during Holy Cross' run in the 2026 Patriot League Tournament. She would cap off the postseason by being named Patriot League Tournament Most Valuable Player, to help lead the Crusaders back to the NCAA Tournament.

Flanagan enjoyed an outstanding regular season campaign that saw her eclipse 1,000 career points (1,064), 500 career assists (544), and a program record 131 career starts. She also led the Patriot League in assist to turnover ratio (1.9) and total assists (136) while finishing second in assists per game (4.1). Flanagan is only the third player in program history with 1,000+ points and 500+ assists. She joined Alex Smith (2010-2014; 1,644 points, 568 assists) and Anna Kinne (1996-00; 1,234 points, 532 assists). 

To qualify for CSC Academic All-District®, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games/contests.
