Stockfish to represent Holy Cross, U.S. Collegiate Selects at Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland

Junior Jack Stockfish of the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team heads to Davos, Switzerland this week to represent the U.S. Collegiate Selects at the Spengler Cup, taking place Dec. 26 to 31. Stockfish, who was named to the team on Nov. 13, is the lone representative from Atlantic Hockey.

Stockfish finished the first half of the season with 17 points on eight goals and nine assists this season. The center from North Bay, Ontario boasts 188 face-off wins this season with a 60.6% win percentage at the dot, ranking him 17th in the nation. Stockfish, who was also selected as the Atlantic Hockey Preseason Player of the Year, is tied for third in the league in goals and points.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
The 97th Spengler Cup will include the U.S. Collegiate Selects, Team Canada, IFK Helsinki, Sparta Prague, Fribourg-Gottéron, and HC Davos, and marks the first time in tournament history that a team of NCAA Division I college hockey players will take part in the event.

Each team will play a minimum of three games and a maximum of five in six days, with the U.S. Collegiate Selects opening the tournament with a game against Team Canada on Dec. 26 at 2:15 p.m. ET. Team Canada will be made up of professionals from European leagues, the AHL, and ECHL.

UP NEXT FOR THE CRUSADERS: 
Holy Cross resumes action after the holidays with a home-and-home series against Bentley on Jan. 2 and 3. The Crusaders head to Waltham for a Friday evening matchup before hosting the Falcons on Saturday. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. in the Hart Center Rink.

The Crusaders ended the fall semester with a 9-1-1 record in their last 11 games.
