WORCESTER, Mass. — Holy Cross field hockey sophomore goalkeeper
Mia McCloskey and freshman forward
Martina di Gregorio Giralt were named Patriot League Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week, respectively, as voted on by the Patriot League coaches and announced by the league offices Monday afternoon.
In Friday's overtime win against Patriot League opponent Colgate, McCloskey recorded eight saves. Of the three goals she allowed, two were on penalty corner plays.
3:51 seconds into the overtime period - and just 37 seconds after subbing onto the field - di Gregorio Giralt dribbled across the endline before sending a shot between the Colgate netminders' legs to win the game for Holy Cross.
On Sunday against Maine, McCloskey recorded a season-high 14 saves, marking her fourth game this season with double-digit stops.
McCloskey leads the Patriot League with 7.93 saves per game and 119 total saves, while her 2.56 goals-against average sits fourth, and her .758 save percentage sits third. di Gregorio Girlat's two game-winning goals are tied for the second-most in the Patriot League.

Holy Cross (6-9, 2-3Â PL) travels to Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Nov. 1 to face American for their final regular season contest at 1 p.m.
