WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Declan O'Flynn has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from March 18-24. O'Flynn went 3-0 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles action for the Holy Cross men's tennis team in three Patriot League matches last week.
During Friday's match with Army, O'Flynn defeated Marcus Sebastian 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. He went on to beat Nick Lawliss of Loyola (Md.) 6-0, 6-2 on Saturday at No. 4 singles, and Nick McKenzie of Lafayette 6-1, 6-1 on Sunday at No. 3 singles. In addition to his singles play, O'Flynn teamed with senior
William Kelleher at No. 2 doubles for victories over George Cavo and Lawliss of Loyola (6-0) and Ryan Burns and Williams Woolley of Lafayette (6-1).
On the season, O'Flynn stands 5-3 in singles and 2-6 in doubles, including a perfect 4-0 mark in Patriot League singles play. Over the course of his collegiate career, he owns marks of 37-35 in singles and 22-48 in doubles.
Holy Cross (2-7 overall) returns to action on Friday, April 5, when it plays host to Boston University at 4 p.m.
