WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's tennis team hosted Assumption and No. 11 ranked Babson at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility for the Holy Cross Invitational this past weekend.

Freshman Aayush Jhaveri was 2-0 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles to go 5-0 across the invitational while teammate, junior Matt Carlson went 2-0 across singles action.

SATURDAY ACTION (SINGLES PLAY):

• Carlson took down Max Lidman of Babson 6-3, 6-3.
• Junior Teddy Callery also earned a 6-2, 6-3 win over Babson's Sourish Gadhi.
• Jhaveri upended Ronit Gupta of Babson (6-2, 6-4).
• As a team, Holy Cross had five singles victories against Assumption.
• Carlson and Jhaveri were a perfect 2-0 in singles competition.

SUNDAY ACTION (DOUBLES PLAY):

• Freshman Colton Parker and sophomore Will Donnelly had an 8-7 (7-0) win in doubles over Babson's Alexander Merson and Rishi Batlanki in the "A" bracket.
• Sophomore Ezequiel De la Plaza and freshman Luke Prokopis downed Herman Aguirre and Alec Pinjacker of Assumption 8-6 in the "A" bracket.
• Callery and Jhaveri won the "B" finals downing Lindman and Ryan Patrick of Babson, 8-6.

NEXT UP:

• Holy Cross will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 4 when they take on Wagner at noon.
