Men’s tennis bettered by Wagner on Saturday

QUEENS, N.Y. — The Holy Cross men's tennis program suffered a 6-1 setback to non-conference opponent Wagner Saturday afternoon at Flushing Meadows Park.

The defeat was the first of the season for the Crusaders in 2025-26 while the win improves Wagner to 2-0.

DOUBLES PLAY:
  • The Seahawks took both no. 1 and no. 2 doubles for the doubles point.
  • However, junior Teddy Callery and freshman Aayush Jhaveri defeated Pablo Rodriguez and Joshua Zhao 6-4 at no. 3.
SINGLES ACTION:
  • Wagner captured five of six singles matches to earn the victory.
  • Senior Camilo Illanes won the lone Crusader singles match an 8-7 decision over his counterpart.
NEXT UP:
  • The Crusaders will compete at the ITA New England Regional from Wednesday, Oct. 8 to Tuesday, Oct. 14.
