Men's track and field competes at Friar Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I.— The Holy Cross men's track and field team opened up the weekend at the Friar Invitational on Friday.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Junior Matthew Conway claimed a season-best in the 400m with a time of 51.81, only .01 seconds away from his personal best.
  • Junior Rigoberto Alfonso set a personal best in the 800m, crossing the finish line at 1:55.71, earning third. Freshman Liam Lyons made his collegiate debut in 800m, earning fifth with a time of 1:56.48.
  • Senior Jack Welch set a personal record in the mile, finishing at 4:17.39.
  • Freshman Jack Ryan represented the Crusaders in the first day of the Merrimack Alumni Invitational, earning third place in the javelin with a mark of 47.55m.
NEXT UP:
  • The Holy Cross men's track and field team returns to action of Saturday, April 15. The team will travel to North Andover, Mass. to compete in the Merrimack Alumni Invitational.
