Women's lacrosse plays host to #13 Army in Patriot League opener

The Holy Cross women's lacrosse team will be back on the field when it plays host to No. 13 Army West Point in its Patriot League opener on Saturday, March 18, at 1:00 p.m. 

Things to Know About the Crusaders (3-5, 0-0 PL):
• Holy Cross stands 3-5 so far this year, and is coming off a 15-12 setback against Harvard last Saturday.
• Senior Jenna Giardina scored a career-high six goals during the Harvard game. She previously had three goals and one assist against Stonehill, while scoring two goals in the Quinnipiac game. On the year, Giardina is tied for fifth on the team in scoring with 12 goals and one assist for 13 points. During her Holy Cross career, she has totaled 44 points on 38 goals and six assists.
• Junior Lauren Drillock tallied two goals and two assists in the Harvard game. She previously scored five goals against UMass, while tallying a career-high eight points on six goals and two assists in the win over Bryant. Drillock currently leads the team in scoring with 32 points on 22 goals and 10 assists. Over the course of her career as a Crusader, Drillock has now totaled 42 goals and 11 assists for 53 points in 26 games played. 
• Sophomore Sally Zinsner scored three goals against Harvard, after recording four points on three goals and one assist during the win over Long Island. Previously against Stonehill, she tallied a career-high four goals and one assist for five points. On the year, Zinsner ranks second on the team in scoring with 14 goals and four assists for 18 points. 
• Sophomore Ella Kittredge stands third on the team in scoring with 14 goals and three assists for 17 points. She scored a career-best four goals in the win over Stonehill, after previously tallying three goals and one assist against both Bryant and Fairfield. In her career, Kittredge now has 33 points on 28 goals and five assists.
• Senior Christine Fabrizi set a career high with three goals scored against Fairfield, then recorded two goals and one assist in the victory at Bryant. In 32 career games played, she now has 30 points on 23 goals and seven assists.
• Fabrizi and senior Charlotte Wittstock are serving as the Crusaders' captains this season.

Scouting the Black Knights (7-0, 1-0 PL): 
• Army has an overall record of 7-0 on the season, with a 1-0 mark in the Patriot League. The Black Knights are currently ranked 13th in the nation by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
• Freshman Brigid Duffy leads the team in scoring with 37 points on 28 goals and nine assists, while senior Kathleen Sullivan has added 30 points on 17 goals and 13 assists.
• Junior Lacey Bartholomay has started every game in goal for Army, posting a 10.00 goals against average with 59 saves.

Series History:
• This will be just the seventh meeting between Holy Cross and Army, with the all-time series tied at 3-3.
• Holy Cross and Army last met on March 19, 2022, when the Black Knights posted a 21-10 victory at West Point.
