Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Crusaders fall at American

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Junior Annabel Brennan and senior Tory Rider both scored two goals, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by American 14-7 at Reeves Field. The Crusaders fall to 5-8 on the season and 3-3 in the Patriot League, while the Eagles improve to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• American opened the game by taking a 3-1 lead after the first quarter of action.
• Holy Cross tied up the game at 3-3 early in the second quarter, before the Eagles eventually claimed a 5-4 halftime advantage.
• American then scored the first six goals of the second half, going up 11-4 with 11:36 left to play.
• The Crusaders would get no closer than six goals the rest of the way, as the Eagles went on to post a 14-7 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Senior Mackenzie Creagh made 10 saves on the afternoon.
• Senior Racheli Levy-Smith totaled seven draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• American was led by Reagan Murdoch with five goals and one assist.

UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Wednesday, April 15, when it travels to Army West Point for a 4 p.m. game.
