BOSTON, Mass.— The Holy Cross men's track and field team competed at the Massachusetts Winter Opener on Sunday. 

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

• Junior Mike Mazzocca won the high jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 2.06m.
• Senior Sean Flaherty claimed tenth in the 400m with a time of 50.86.
• In the 500m, junior Rigoberto Alfonso set a personal best with a time of 1:07.44, finishing eighth.
• In the distance events, senior Jack Welch posted a personal record in the open mile, finishing fifth (4:19.00). Welch was closely followed by senior Kyle VanDermark who claimed 12th (4:21.70).
• Junior Chris Barone set a personal best in the 60m dash with a time of 7.02.

NEXT UP:

• The Crusaders will return to action on Sunday, Jan. 22. The team will travel to Durham, N.H. to face UNH in a dual meet.
