Women’s basketball adds transfer Callie Wright

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross women's basketball head coach Maureen Magarity is excited to announce the addition of Callie Wright to the program. Wright, a 6-1 forward spent the last two seasons at Memphis.

"I look forward to pursuing both my academic and athletic journey at not only a first class college but a first class basketball program," says Wright. "I cannot wait to get started in such a supportive environment. Go Crusaders!" 

The first transfer in the Magarity era, Wright (bio), appeared in 20 total contests for the Tigers. She made six appearances as a sophomore scoring a career-best six points in a 75-46 victory against Florida A&M on November 20, 2021, where she pulled down one rebound and handed out an assist.

As a freshman, the stretch forward played in 14 games making one start at Temple (March 4, 2021). At home versus Tulsa on January 23, 2021, Wright recorded three blocks, dished out two assists, and came away with two steals to go along with four points.

A native of Markham, Ontario, Wright was a two-time national champion with Team Ontario, was also a two-time All-Canadian selection, and a first team all-star. She received an invitation to the Junior Canadian Team camp in Japan before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
