Women's basketball finishes road swing at Bryant on Sunday

The Holy Cross women's basketball team closes out a two-game road swing at Bryant on Sunday afternoon with tip off slated for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (3-5, 0-0 Patriot League):
  • The Crusaders most recently dropped a 61-46 decision at Harvard on Wednesday as the Crimson took control of the game with a decisive third quarter run.
  • Holy Cross held a slight 31-29 halftime advantage before Harvard bounced back to take a 46-31 lead in the aforementioned third period.
  • Senior captain and forward Meg Cahalan scored in double figures for the seventh time in as many games this season with a game-high 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting.
  • On the season, Cahalan is tied for the Patriot League lead in scoring at 17.9 points per game along with Zanai Barnett-Gay of Navy and Lex Therien of Loyola (Md.).
  • Fellow senior Simone Foreman notched her 10th career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Foreman's 11 boards matched her season-high that she had set at Marist on Nov. 16.
  • Junior guard Hannah Griffin tallied two points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists in 24 minutes on Wednesday as she matched her career-high in rebounds and assists.
  • The Crusaders are 1-0 against the America East this season after a 64-45 victory on Nov. 30 and will also play Vermont (Dec. 16) and UMass Lowell (Dec. 21) in the coming weeks.
BULLDOG BITS (7-2, 0-0 America East):
  • In the battle of the Bulldogs on Wednesday, Bryant dropped a 61-48 decision to Yale in New Haven, Conn.
  • Bryant held a 29-23 lead at the half before Yale outscored them by a 38-19 margin in the second half.
  • Mimi Rubino sank five threes en route to 18 points on the day, while Maranda Nyborg added 14 points and eight rebounds in the setback.
  • Bryant began the season with seven consecutive victories, but has since dropped consecutive contests to Providence and Yale.
  • The Bulldogs rank third in America East in scoring at 69.2 points per game and has scored 70 or more points five times. Individually, Mia Mancini is the team's top scorer at 14.4 ppg and Nia Scott averages a double-double with 12.6 points and 10.1 rebounds.
  • Scott's rebounding numbers are tops in America East and rank in the top 30 nationally.
LAST TIME THEY MET:
  • The two teams last battled on Nov. 28, 2021 in a 67-49 Crusaders victory as they outscored Bryant by a 42-23 margin in the second half. Madison Demski led the way with 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting.
  • Holy Cross has won four straight meetings dating back to the 2017-18 campaign and holds a 12-3 advantage all-time.
