CAMDEN, N.J. – The Holy Cross women's rowing team wrapped up the 2022 spring season by finishing in eighth place with a total of 13 points at the Patriot League Championship on the Cooper River. Boston University claimed the conference title by recording 50 points on the day.
In the varsity eight, Holy Cross won the petite final with a time of 7:32.138. The Crusaders began the day by coming in fourth in their preliminary heat with a time of 7:39.799.
The second varsity eight saw Holy Cross earn a second-place finish in the petite final in a time of 8:03.249. In their opening heat of the day, the Crusaders came in fourth (8:09.419).
"We had a great day of racing, and it was impressive to watch our varsity eight and second varsity eight finish higher than their seedings," said head coach
Andrea Landry. "There's nothing more thrilling than watching your athletes exceed their limits. The women demonstrated their ability to stay internal, race clean and 'love the fight.' It was a fun set of finals to watch and we are incredibly proud of each Crusader in this program. Thank you to our seniors.
"I would also like to congratulate head coach Madeline Davis Tully and the Boston University program, as they move on to represent the Patriot League at the NCAA Championship later this month."
Bucknell won the grand final in the varsity eight, while Boston University had a first-place finish in the grand final of the second varsity eight and Navy took first in the grand final of the varsity four.
