SHELTON, Conn. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team closed out their fall schedule on Saturday at the Heart of the Housatonic on the Housatonic River.

Andrea Landry. "Today was another weekend showcasing our team's depth and resilience. Congratulations to our 2V8 and 3V8 for their top finishes in their respective fields. It was a gritty race for the 1V8, fighting to stay long and keep their stride despite steering issues before the halfway point. Our 1V8 coxswain attempted to clear debris off the skeg through the last 2500m of the course requiring power steering (athlete steering) the remainder of the race. Assessing the controllables, I felt all 8s came together to execute strong races."
"Coaches are also pleased with our 4+s performances, highlighted by a 2nd and 4th place finish in a field of 16 boats," continued Landry. "We're always impressed with our crews high level execution when racing twice. As a whole, our program is applying day to day concepts to race day performance, and we look forward to seeing how their winter training supports their momentum! Thank you to all our parents who came out for Family Weekend."
The varsity 8+ 'B' and 'A' finished back-to-back in fifth and sixth, respectively, with times of 15:58.72 and 16:07.16. The 'C' boat finished 11th in the 21-boat field with a 17:00.00.
The varsity 4+ 'B' finished second with a time of 17:30.38, while the 'A' entry finished fourth in the 16-boat field with a time of 17:45.82. The 'C' entry finished 15th with a time of 20:10.74.
