WORCESTER, Mass. – Five members of the Holy Cross women's soccer team, have been selected to the 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. The five honorees are senior forward
Claire Carew, sophomore goalkeeper
Olivia Dubin, senior forward/midfielder
Melanie Lytle, senior forward
Colleen McIlvenna and junior forward
Ellie Zern.
Carew played in twelve games for Holy Cross this season, starting in five. She tallied 377 minutes of action. During her time on the Hill, Carew played in 46 games, starting 19 times. She owns 1,760 minutes of game action. Carew finalized her collegiate career with four assists. She holds a cumulative grade point average of 3.63 with a major in Psychology.
Dubin appeared in 14 games for the Crusaders, starting in each of them. She helped Holy Cross add three shutouts to their season record. She acquired 1,215 minutes of action during the season and owns 2,717 minutes in the first half of her collegiate career. Dubin tallied 62 saves during the 2022 season allowing an average of 1.49 goals per game. She holds a cumulative grade point average of 4.00 with a major in Environmental Science.
Lytle served as one of the team captains for the 2022 season. She played in all 17 games for Holy Cross, starting 12 times. She tallied the first game winner of her career against Lafayette on senior day. Lytle has seen 1,164 minutes of game action in her Holy Cross career. She leaves the program with two goals and an assist. She owns a cumulative grade point average of 3.81 with a double-major in Mathematics and Political Science.
McIlvenna was another captain for the 2022 season. She appeared in all 17 games for the Crusaders, starting in 13. McIlvenna registered two goals this year and a total of four, including one game-winner during her career. During her senior season, she added 1,086 minutes of play to her career total, 2,107. She holds a cumulative grade point average of 4.00 with a major in Accounting.
Zern played in every game for the Crusaders during the 2022 season, starting in seven. During the season, she added two assists to her career total (3). She owns five points heading into her senior season. Zern has tallied 1,279 minutes of career game minutes thus far. She holds a cumulative grade point average of 3.62 with a major in International Studies.
By earning Academic All-District honors, Carew, Dubin, Klein, Lytle, McIlvenna and Zern will advance to the Academic All-America honor ballot. Decisions for The Academic All-America team will be determined in December.
Holy Cross finished the 2022 season with an overall record of 2-11-4 and 2-6-1 in the Patriot League standings.
