BOSTON, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team traveled to the city to face off with Boston University (BU) for a Turnpike Trophy showdown at Nickerson Field. A second half goal by the Terriers lifted them to the 1-0 win over the Crusaders.
IN GOAL:
- Holy Cross: Aubrey Haesche (L, 5-4-4), five saves
- BU: Bridget Carr (W, 4-0-1), one save
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Neither team scored in the first half with Haesche making three saves to Carr's one.
- The Terriers led the Crusaders 8-2 in shots and Holy Cross had the 2-0 advantage in corners through 45 minutes.
- At 51:22 in the second half, the Terrier's Ava Maguire netted the game-winner for the 1-0 victory over the Crusaders.
- Boston University led Holy Cross 13-6 in shots and 2-6 in shots on goal while the Crusaders had the 4-1 advantage in corners to conclude the game.
UP NEXT:
- The Crusaders (5-6-4, 2-2-2) will host Lehigh (2-8-3, 0-5-1) for Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 18, for a 1:00 pm kickoff at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium in Worcester, Mass. The Senior Day ceremony will be held prior to kickoff.
