The Holy Cross women's lacrosse team will be back in action on Saturday, March 27, when it travels to Boston University for a 12:00 p.m. game.
Things to Know About the Crusaders (2-2, 1-1 PL):
• Holy Cross currently stand 2-2 on the year with a 1-1 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders own wins over Merrimack (19-12) and Lafayette (12-9), while falling to Massachusetts (19-8) and Colgate (12-9).
• Junior
Jolie Creo has led the team in scoring with 24 points on 18 goals and six assists so far this season. She has scored at least three goals in every game this year, and recorded a school single-game record 11 points on eight goals and three assists in the victory over Merrimack. In 28 career games played, Creo has now totaled 95 points on 72 goals and 23 assists.
• Senior
Izzy Grant currently ranks second on the team in scoring with 10 goals. She scored a career-high five goals at Lafayette, then matched that mark with five goals against Merrimack. Over the course of her Holy Cross career, Grant has now recorded 54 points on 50 goals and four assists in 41 games played.
• Senior
Catherine Guanci has been playing well recently, totaling six points on four goals and two assists over the last two games. She scored three goals at UMass, while recording a goal and two assists in the win over Merrimack. In her collegiate career, Guanci now has 36 goals and 11 assists for 47 points in 46 games played.
• Junior
Grace Flink has played 237:51 in goal this season, posting a 2-2 record with a 12.87 goals against average. She made a season-high 17 saves in the UMass game, while recording 11 saves against Merrimack. During her Holy Cross career, Flink now owns a 7-5 record with 122 saves, a 10.61 goals against average and a .517 save percentage.
Scouting the Terriers (1-4, 0-1 PL):
• Boston University stands 1-4 overall this season with an 0-1 record in Patriot League play. The Terriers have lost their last two games, including a 14-9 setback at Colgate on Sunday.
• Senior Emily Vervlied has led the team in scoring with 17 points on 11 goals and six assists. She has scored a goal in every game this year, and recorded a season-high five points on three goals and two assists against UMass.
• Senior Makenzie Irvine is also off to a strong start for Boston University, totaling 12 points on 10 goals and two assists so far this season.
Series History:
• Boston University holds a 12-1 lead in the all-time series between the schools, winning nine straight.
• The last meeting took place on April 17, 2019, with the Terriers winning 23-14 in Worcester as Kailey Conry totaled three goals and a school single-game record 10 assists.
