Women's basketball set to host Army West Point

The Holy Cross women's basketball team will host Army West Point on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

The game will be broadcasted on the Patriot League Network, with Craig White and Ben Altsher on the call. In the Worcester area, the game can be heard live on Unity Radio 97.9FM, with Steve Vecchione on play-by-play.

Holy Cross will also be holding its Salute to Service, with all active and retired military personnel and first responders receiving two free tickets to the game.

Things to Know About the Crusaders (15-11, 8-7 Patriot League):
  • Holy Cross comes off tough back-to-back losses, most recently falling to Colgate on Saturday, Feb. 22 by a score of 80-69.
  • Senior Lauren Manis had an outstanding performance on Senior Day, finishing with 30 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore Avery LaBarbera (18 points) and senior Megan Swords (11 points) also tallied double-figure points.
  • This marked the third 30-point game of Manis' career, her second in three games, and her first at the Hart Center.
  • After Saturday's game, Manis has moved into third place in program history in career points, surpassing Janet Hourihan, who had 1,909 points between 1982-86. Manis now has 1,935 career points.
  • With three games remaining in the regular season, Holy Cross sits in fifth place in the Patriot League standings.
Things to Know About the Black Knights (7-19, 3-12 Patriot League):
  • Army has won back-to-back home games, defeating Navy by a score of 62-52 on Saturday.
  • In the victory, Hope Brown finished with 18 points, while Lindsay Scamman totaled nine points and 13 rebounds.
  • Brown was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after averaging 17 points per game during the 2-0 week.
  • Alisa Fallon (11.9 points per game) and Scamman (11.8 points per game) have continued to lead the Black Knights offensively.
  • Army averages 38.3 rebounds per game, tied for second in the Patriot League behind the Crusaders.
Last Time They Met:
  • Holy Cross fell short in a 61-48 result at Army West Point on Jan. 15.
  • Swords led the Crusaders with a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. LaBarbera finished in double figures with 11 points, and Manis recorded 10 rebounds.
