WORCESTER, Mass. – Women's lacrosse freshman attack Jolie Creo was named the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league. It is the first weekly honor for the freshman and the team's second honor of the season.
The freshman attacker is the first Crusader to earn the league's Rookie of the Week honors since Kaitlin Concilio in 2013 and is the eighth Crusader in program history to receive the accolade.
Creo recorded a career-high five goals and one assist for six points in the Crusaders 19-13 win over Bucknell on April 6.
In the first half, Creo assisted on one goal and scored another to erase Bucknell's two-goal lead and to even the score at 6-6. In the second half, Creo tallied three goals. Two of her three second half goals put Holy Cross on top of Bucknell.
Creo now leads the team in points with 20 goals and six assists. She is the first Crusader rookie to tally a 20-goal season since Laura Ryan in 2013.
Holy Cross is back in action on April 13 when they head to Lehigh for a 12:00 p.m. game.
