WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's tennis team lost to Lafayette, 4-1, in the first round of the Patriot League Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Crusaders earned their lone point at No. 6 singles, when Henry Harrs won his match, 6-1, 6-2.
- Will Chen and Alexander Ruenhorst also won their No. 2 doubles match, 6-2, but Lafyaette took both No. 1 and 3 doubles to claim the overall point.
- The Leopards won matches at No. 2, 3, and 5 singles to seal the team victory.
- At No. 1 singles, Chen had forced a third set after going 6-4, 4-6, in the first two before the match was called.
- Ruenhorst had also forced a third set at No. 4 singles with 1-6, 6-4 results in the first two, but his match was also not finished.
The loss concludes the team's season.
