WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's tennis team was victorious by a 4-3 margin against non-conference opponent Merrimack on Senior Day Friday afternoon at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility.

The win improves the Crusaders to 6-11 overall while the loss sends the Warriors to 3-12.

The program honored seniors Alessandro Bizzarri, Camilo Illanes and Patrick Ling for their contributions to the program in a prematch ceremony.

DOUBLES ACTION:

• Holy Cross earned the doubles point winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
• Sophomore Ezequiel De la Plaza and freshman Aayush Jhaveri had a 6-1 victory at No. 1 while Juniors Matt Carlson and Teddy Callery won by a 6-2 score at No. 2.

SINGLES PLAY:

• The Crusaders took three singles matches to complete the victory.
• Carlson at No. 2 (6-0, 6-3) and Callery at No. 3 (6-2, 6-2) had their second wins of the match.
• Illanes rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 6.

NEXT UP:

• The Crusaders are back in Patriot League action when they travel to Loyola (Md.) (1-13, 0-5 PL) on Sunday, April 12 at noon.
