WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's tennis team traveled to in-city opponent Assumption on Wednesday and defeated the Greyhounds 6-1 on the Assumption Tennis Courts.

The win, the second straight for the Crusaders pushes them to 5-9. It is the second time this season that they have won two in a row. The Greyhounds drop to 8-5 with the setback.

DOUBLES PLAY:

• Holy Cross brought home the doubled point taking two of three doubles matches.
• Sophomore Ezequiel De la Plaza and freshman Aayush Jhaveri were victorious at No. 1 doubles 6-4.
• Senior Patrick Ling and junior Teddy Callery also earned a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles.

SINGLES ACTION:

• Holy Cross had wins at five of the six singles matches to nearly record a shutout victory.
• De La Plaza (No. 1, 6-4, 6-4), Jhaveri (No. 4, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4) and Ling (No. 5, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2) all earned their second win of the afternoon during singles play.

NEXT UP:

• The Crusaders return to Patriot League play at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility on Saturday, April 4 against Boston University (6-10, 2-1 PL) at noon.
