LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team narrowly fell at Bucknell, 10-7. Sean Mullaney posted his second-consecutive hat trick and added two assists to lead the team. Jonathan Tesoro recorded 13 saves, but it was not enough to hold of the Bison.

 

Holy Cross (2-4, 0-2 PL) opened the scoring at 13:16, when Drew Babiak recorded his seventh of the season. The Bison (2-4, 1-1 PL) evened things up at 8:26, but the Crusaders responded just over one minute later from Mullaney, 2-1. Bucknell ended the first quarter with a goal at 3:06 to tie up the game.

 

Bucknell continued with a hot offense as they scored twice more in the opening of the second quarter. Connor Waldron stopped the Bison run, making the game 4-3, at 7:58. But Bucknell extended their lead once more to finish the half, 5-3.

 

On a man-up opportunity, Bucknell fired off their sixth of the game to take the largest lead of the game, 6-3, at 11:19 in the third. Waldron struck again, assisted by Kevin Kodzis, to halt the Bison.

 

The Crusaders continued to pressure in the fourth quarter as they rattled off two more goals to even the game, 6-6, at 11:54 of the final quarter. Kodzis scored his 13th of the season and Mullaney added his second of the day. Bucknell's Reed Malas put the Bison back on top at 9:15 and Holy Cross responded once more, again from Mullaney.

 

With the Crusaders pressuring on attack, the Bison recorded the final three goals of the game at 6:46, 3:45, and 0:19.

  • Bucknell outshot Holy Cross, 35-29.
  • The Crusaders went 17-for-28 on the clear.
