WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's tennis team fell to Sacred Heart, 6-1, Sunday afternoon. It was the Crusaders' first match of the new semester, while the loss drops them to 4-3 and on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Holy Cross claimed its lone point by winning the doubles competition. Will Chen and Alexander Ruenhorst claimed the No. 2 doubles victory by a score of 7-6 (7-5). Matthew Murphy and Henry Harrs won No. 3 doubles with a 7-6 (7-4).
- Sacred Heart swept the singles competition, but three matches did go the full three sets.
- At No. 3 singles, Ruenhorst lost 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 2-6.
- Matthew Slowinski fell in No. 5 singles 7-5, 2-6, 7-10.
- Harrs lost in No. 6 singles by a score of 4-6, 6-3, 8-10.
