WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross field hockey team will travel to Providence this Wednesday to take on Brown.
The Crusaders are coming off a 2-1 win over Vermont Sunday that pushed their record back to .500 on the year. The Bears most recently lost to Harvard, 9-1, falling to 4-7 overall.
Things to know about Holy Cross (6-6):
- Minke Koomen has continued her strong season, adding a goal and an assist Sunday against Vermont to bring her team-leading point total to 17.
- Keely Smith scored her second goal of the season against the Catamounts and Sinead Walsh picked up her third assist. Marcia LaPlante is currently fourth in the country with her .808 save percentage.
- The Crusaders will have the week off from Patriot League action as they take on Brown on Wednesday, followed by a matchup with UMass Lowell on Sunday. A win in either of the Crusaders' remaining conference games should be enough to push them into the postseason, but it won't be an easy road as the games are against currently 2-1 in league action Bucknell and perennial power Boston University.

- The Bears have started two different goalies this year. Allee Ayles has started five games, posting a 3.15 goals against average and a .622 save percentage. Calista Manuzza has posted a 4.00 goals against average and a .574 save percentage over six starts.
- Brown has averaged 1.73 goals per game this year, while allowing its opponents to more than double that, scoring 3.55 per game.
