WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman Martina di Gregorio Giralt's overtime score lifted Holy Cross over Colgate, 4-3, Friday afternoon at the Hart Turf Field.

With the win, Holy Cross improves to 6-8 overall and 2-3 in the Patriot League, while Colgate moves to 4-11, with an 0-5 Patriot League mark.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Colgate got on the board 3:36 into the first quarter on a penalty corner strike.
• Holy Cross responded with a penalty corner goal of their own eight minutes later, with junior Saskia Williams sending a drag flick past the Colgate netminder.
• The Raiders regained the lead halfway through the second quarter, though the lead was short lived as junior Marissa MacLean tied the game back up five minutes later when she pushed a rebound into the corner of the net. 
• The game remained tied through the third quarter before junior Maguire Sturgis picked up a long pass by sophomore Jocelyn Monti, finding the left corner of the goal for the Crusaders' first lead of the game.
• After a lengthy review, Colgate tied the game up at 3-3 with 1:10 remaining to force overtime. 
• Holy Cross put the pressure on in the extra period, and it was di Gregorio Giralt who would be the hero for Holy Cross, walking the ball along the endline before sending a shot on net that deflected past the Colgate keeper for the win.

BEYOND THE BOX:

• Sophomore Mia McCloskey made eight saves in the win. 
• Monti's two assists marked the first time in her career that she found herself on the stat sheet multiple times, while MacLean recorded her second multi-point effort of the season.

UP NEXT:

• Holy Cross returns home on Sunday, Oct. 26 when they welcome Maine to the Hart Turf Field for a non-conference matchup at 12 p.m.
• The program will recognize it's five seniors prior to the contest: Julia Carrozza, Izzy van der Spuy, Coley Leo, Kendall Blomquist, and Megan Schienbein.
