WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's tennis team defeated Eastern Nazarene, 5-3, Wednesday afternoon.  With the win, the Crusaders begin the year 1-0.

How it happened:

• Freshman Will Chen won No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1.
• Alexander Ruenhorst defeated his competition in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
• Sophomore Matthew Slowinski won No. 4 singles, 6-4, 0-6, 10-8.
• Senior Peter Campito claimed a victory in No. 5 singles, 7-5, 6-2.
• Eastern Nazarene claimed two victories in doubles competition, but senior Henry Harrs and junior Matthew Murphy did win No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
• Murphy's No. 6 singles match was suspended due to weather, but Holy Cross was able to claim the team win nonetheless.
