The Lead: The Holy Cross men's track and field team hosted Rhode Island and Worcester State at the Hart Track at the Luth Athletic Complex on Monday, as four different Crusaders set a new personal record.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior Thomas Kalantzakos took first place out 13 runners in the 400-meter run, notching a personal record mark of 49.94.
- Freshman Jacob Newton reached a career-best time of 50.68 for a third-place finish in the 400-meter run.
- Junior Bryan Gallagher ran for a new personal-record time of 4:02.67 in the 1,500-meter run, taking fourth place out of 22 opponents.
- Senior co-captain Michael Araujo notched a strong performance in the pole vault for a second place finish, clearing a height of 4.45 meters.
- Throwing for a distance of 48.95 meters, sophomore Myles Connor placed second overall in the javelin throw.
- Senior co-captain Michael Andre took third place in the 800-meter run with his time of 1:57.67.
- Junior Andre Harton ran a season-best time of 11.34 in the 100-meter dash. He additionally tied for third place in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.85 meters.
- Senior Kyle Cunningham threw for a career-best distance of 40.42 meters in the hammer throw, taking seventh place.
