Holy Cross Athletics

2016-2017:

• Competed in the 4,000-meter Distance Medley, 1 mile, 1,500 and 3,000-meter runs and was a member of the 4 x 400-meter Relay team
• Recorded career-best time in the 1,500-meter run (4:02.67) at the Holy Cross Men’s Meet (4/24), the 1 mile run (4:23.95) at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Inv. (2/10) and the 3,000-meter run (8:50.07) at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational (1/27)
• Placed ninth in the 3,000-meter run (9:01.22) at the Jay Carisella Track & Field Invitational
• Finished eighth in the 1 mile run (4:34.68) at the UNH vs Holy Cross Meet (1/21)
• Qualified for and finished seventh in the 4,000-meter Distance Medley (10:27.78) at the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships (2/17)
• During the outdoor season, Gallagher qualified for and finished 16 in the 1,500-meter run (4:07.15) at the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships (5/5)
• Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

2015-2016:

• Competed in 800m, 1,000m, 1,500m, one-mile and 3,000m runs
• Recorded career-high times in the 800m (1:58.80) at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational (2/12), in the 1,000m (2:35.97) at the Joe Donahue Games (1/22), in the 1,500m (4:12.28) versus Rhode Island and Worcester State (4/27), in the one-mile (4:36.06) at Central Connecticut Invitational (4/2) and in the 3,000m (9:18.34) at the Jay Carisella Invitational (12/13)
• Also ran as a member of the 4,000m distance medley team, 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams
• Ran as a part of the 4,000m distance medley team that recorded a team-best time of 10:26.53 at the Patriot League Indoor Championship (2/19)

2014-2015:  

• Competed in the 800, 1,000 and 1,500-meter and one mile runs
• Also competed on the 4x400 and 4x800-meter relay teams
• Ran season-high times in the 800 (2:00.96) at the Brown Springtime Open, in the 1,000 (2:43.87) at the Joe Donahue Games, the 1,500 (4:17.17) at the Holy Cross Classic and one mile (4:43.41) versus Maine.

2013-2014:

• Ran season-best 8K time of 27:22.24 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational
• Also ran against New Hampshire 6K (41st, 21:08.50) and in the Central Connecticut Mini Meet 5K (JV, 15th, 16:41.98) and IC4A Championship 5 mile (128th, 29:49.30).

Before Holy Cross:

• Three-year member of the cross country team at Concord Academy
• Named 2013 Eastern Independent League All-Star and Boston Globe All-Scholastic in 2013
• Two-year member of the track & field team, competing in mid distance/throw
• Set school record in 4 x 400 meter relay during senior year
• Came in third place in the 800 meter at 2014 Odell Championships
• Placed eighth in 2014 NEPSAC Division III Championship in 800 mete
• One year member of track & field at Littleton High School
• Competed in sprints/mid distance/throws
• Was the fastest 400 meter runner as a freshman, running 59.08 at 2011 Massachusetts State Championships
• Played lacrosse for one season
• Member of the Cambridge Sports Union track & field/cross country club team.

Personal:

• Son of Joseph and Judith Gallagher
• Uncle, Kenneth (class of ’79) ran track & field, competing in the long jump
• Cousins Brendan (class of ’07) and Matthew Webb (class of ’11) both played men’s ice hockey for Holy Cross
• Majoring in English and studio art.
