The Lead: The 4x400-meter relay team consisting of senior co-captains Michael Andre and Henry Dodge, along with seniors Benjamin Ghiano and Edward DeLuca met the New England Outdoor Championship qualifying standards for a second place finish with their time of 3:27.65, as the Holy Cross men's track and field team took third place overall at the 2017 Holy Cross Invitational on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior Andre Harton took first place in the 100-meter dash with his time of 11.40.
- Junior Thomas Kalantzakos captured first place in the 800-meter run, recording a time of 1:55.97.
- Senior Phil Zobrest took third place in the shot put (13.70 meters) for a season-best distance. He also led the Crusaders in the discus throw, taking fourth place for a season-best and personal record distance of 40.44 meters.
- Sophomore Myles Connor took second place in the javelin throw with his distance of 51.01 meters. Classmate Louis Hurtado landed just behind him in third place with a personal-best throw of 50.26 meters.
- Sophomore Sawyer Badey hit a personal record of 12.75 meters in the triple jump.
- Reaching a height of 4.25 meters, senior Michael Araujo took first place in the pole vault.
- Senior co-captain William Raven placed second in the 110 meter hurdles with his season-best time of 16.33.
- Freshman Freddie Halloran took second place in the 400-meter hurdles, notching a time of 56.50.
- Sophomore Joseph Prunty ran for eighth place in the 5,000-meter run with a personal-record time of 15:22.08.

- Holy Cross returns to action at home on Monday, April 24 when the Crusaders host Rhode Island and Worcester State starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Hart Track at the Luth Athletic Complex.
