Men’s track and field competes in Raleigh Relays and Jaylin Rainford Invitational

The Holy Cross men's track and field team opened its season competing at the Raleigh Relays at NC State and the inaugural Jaylin Rainford Invitational, hosted by Bryant University.

RALEIGH RELAYS MEET HIGHLIGHTS: 
  • Senior Liam Lyons broke the school record and finished third overall in the 1,500m with a time of 3:38.38.
  • Sophomore Josh Gentchos ran a time of 10.82 in the 100m dash and 21.74 in the 200m.
  • Junior Joseph Mahon clocked in a time of 14:18.84 in the 5,000m.
  • Senior Jack Ryan placed eighth in the javelin with a best mark of 60.97m.
JAYLIN RAINFORD INVITATIONAL MEET HIGHLIGHTS: 
  • Sophomore Lewis O'Connor and junior Thomas Speltz finished first and second in the 1,500m with times of 3:58.31 and 3:58.44.
  • Freshman Nic Oglesby and junior Michel Mondesir finished first and third in the high jump with marks of 2.00m and 1.85m.
  • Junior Chandler Dicks came in second in the long jump with a mark of 7.08m.
  • Sophomore Iain DeBoth placed second in the 100m dash and third in the 200m running 10.97 and 22.02.
  • Sophomore Jack Larkin came in fifth in the 10,000m with a time of 30:58.82.
UP NEXT: 
  • The Crusaders will head down to Storrs, Conn. to compete in the UConn Dog fight on Saturday, Apr. 4.
