• The Lead: The Holy Cross women's rowing team started its 2017 spring season at the 35th annual Murphy Cup on Saturday on the Schuylkill River.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The varsity eight placed third in its heat out of four boats with a time of 7:03.44. Boston College was first with a time of 6:43:05.
• The second varsity eight placed fifth in its heat out of five boats with a time of 7:47.12. Navy won with a time of 7:03:32.

THE LINEUPS:

• Holy Cross Varsity Eight: Ming Comey (Coxswain), Bridgid Carey, Kate Beckerman, Mikayla Manyin, Mary Beth Parslow, Kate Hegermiller, Maegan Moriarty, Grace Cogan, Caroline Quinn.
• Holy Cross Second Varsity Eight: Mia Lambo (Coxswain), Tyler Sparling, Lizzie Douglass, Amanda McClure, Karson Silver, Kaitlyn Conte, Tessie Salatas, Caroline O'Connor, Victoria Pierce.
