• The Lead: Freshman goalkeeper Danielle Fucci made 12 saves as the Crusaders came up short against Harvard on Friday night at Harvard Field Hockey Stadium, falling by a score of 2-1 after 10 shootout rounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Hannah Wellington gave Harvard the first lead of the game in the 14th minute of play, scoring off a corner opportunity.
• In the 31st minute, sophomore forward Caroline Bono tied the game for Holy Cross, finishing a 3-on-1 opportunity off an assist from junior forward Maureen Connolly.
• The Crusaders threatened to end the game in overtime on a few occasions, earning three penalty corners in extra time, but they were unable to overcome the Crimson defense.
• Harvard secured the win in the shootout, edging Holy Cross by a score of 6-5 through 10 rounds.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Fucci stopped 12 shots in net for the Crusaders.
• Bono and sophomore midfielder Emily Loprete led Holy Cross with two shots each.
